I agree that it was a gaffe, nothing more.

I'm amazed, though, at the solicitous support Bush is getting.
Imagine if this had been Obama's gaffe or McCain's! We'd have a two day fight over it.

Probably an intern, I agree.

Sounds like the "cut and paste" job a young intern...who got the job through someone's connections, but without any knowledge his/herself ... would do.

Yes, the real story is who did this, and who signed off on it. As a rule, I have found when there is no disclosure on the source of a dumb media release (in corp life) the connections run high. If not, the offender is quickly sacrificed.

Clearly a lack of oversight in the White House Press Office.
It won't affect relations...but this sort of sloppiness does not help Bush any.
Perhaps the WH is just marking time now?

sounds like an intern. by accident. or on purpose. This gaffe doesnt belong to Bush. The more interesting story by far is who did this, what's their name? It's not going to affect anything between B and B.
