K, you're right -- he's not in a megastate and he's in a redder-than-red area, a future project of the Dems (developing in new places) rather than a top-billing guy.

As for top-billing guy, who knows what Bill Clinton will say tonight but don't forget Joe Biden. The expectations are already building for some serious McCain- and GOP-bashing from the Hit Man from Delaware. Go, attack dog, go. Woof! Let's see what you do...

It's good to see appreciation of this instead of nothing but "spin" propping up Hillary's crummy speech.

Schweitzer's speech was the one (1) good one and included rallying calls to get the crowd going. That's what should have been routine and consistent last night! (along with healthy, hearty McCain-bashing)

I always find it humorous that Democrats like Howard Dean or Brian Schweitzer talk about the glories of the Democratic party from states that are over 90% white and with stable populations. I doubt if Montana has been hit hard by illegal immigration or inner city crime.

I'm sure Gov Schweitzer is an admirable figure. But would he help a candidate that is short on experience and foreign policy credentials??? How would he help in states like Pennsylvania-- where Obama may lose to McCain because he doesn't relate to blue-collar union workers?

There's more that goes into chosing a nominee than whether or not they give a good speech. As gifted as Obama is, he has a lot of weak points that the campaign must compensate for.

I made the mistake of watching MSNBC... and was treated to Keith Olberman and Chris Matthews, et al, pontificating throughout about Hillary and what she had to do, 'til they finally cut to him for the last 10 words or so of it.

That *really* pissed me off.
