The Moderate Voice: Bye Bye Barry (Guest Voice)

  • Jim_Satterfield · 1 year ago
I haven't seen one Guest Voice from Hirschhorn that impressed me and this one is no exception. In fact I would go so far as to say that it's the worst piece of BS he's written. Any chance of finding some better Guest Voices? Because this one was pretty disgusting.

In the end, Americans do not want the smartest person in the presidency or endless nuancing.

The want a moron they can drink beer with.

So Joel, Obama is arrogant and self-serving, but Nader isn't? You must be wearing the kind of spectacles that would give any sane person a migrane.

Hating everyone is not an informed opinion.

"after 8ys of bushismes macacainsims and other oreilliries
I bet that the voters will remember and this time will choose wisely"

If they don't, then they will deserve the parody of a once great country they would be helping to create.

While everyone is entitled to an opinion, it would be nice if this piece offered some constructive criticism rather than dwelling entirely on negativity. For example, how about a similar post that details the author's best-case scenario? Write about the surprise third-party candidate who emerged to win the election, and how he or she pulls it off. Had Ross Perot not dropped out midway back in 1992 he very well could have broken through the two-party system, and it's conceivable that if someone like Colin Powell or Warren Buffett were ever convinced to run independently that they could win. An article about such a scenario would prove more enlightening than one like this one that basically says "the system sucks" without offering any insights.

"Hillary in the meantime has already been vented and would have been able to focus on other matters."

Greendreams, I think you mean "vetted."

If this musing ever comes as a premonition, Hillary may run in 2012 , but she will have so many well wishers waiting in ambush for her, it will not be I told you so , but I killed myself also.
Do you suppose one second that the Obama voters who are routinely villified, insulted who daily get their copious servings of abuse , will for a moment of madness forget who made the fairytale comments, who remembered the ides of June, who chose Mark Penn now a no more hidden racist as her chief startegist, do we want those people in the WH.
    no , no way
BY THE WAY YES WE ARE NOW GETTING VERY UNHAPPY- i AM POLITE so I shall refrain to voice how mad we are we are raving unhappy
we love the USA BUT IF IT TAKES A TSUNAMI to get the US back on tracks so be it

Almost anyone can postulate a possible outcome to an event--whether it turns out to be the correct prediction is another matter.

It takes a certain skill to "flesh out" the details to make the predicted outcome somewhat interesting and plausible.

But it takes Hirschhorn's glib and bloviating to expertly weave in bias, hate, and prejudice into such a "prediction."

Never mind the quality-control issues. The obituary is awfully premature!

I read an editorial by David Gergen who is in Obama's court I believe and a very smart man.

A once commanding lead by Obama is now down to 275 electoral votes with McCain taking the lead in 3 states he once trailed in. McCain showing momentum and Obama starting to lag behind. Remember back in the early days when the GOP kept saying that Obama would be easier to defeat then Hillary.

Well this seems to be what they are talking about. Once Obama shows up on the world stage with his postage stamp resume against John McCain then the venting will begin and Obama will spend his entire time defending himself instead of getting his message out. Hillary in the meantime has already been vented and would have been able to focus on other matters.

The numbers are just not there. HIllary Clinton supporters are staying away from Obama in droves. I believe Obama himself would love to have Hillary on the podium with him. Obama's supporters would not.

John McCain is going to be the next president because the Obama supporters will not let Obama be that which he has promised to be..............the Uniter.
