I guess that know that they have the SWPL voter locked up so then they can go more mainstream.

Also, is there anything more elitist than attacking a middle American chain?

Yep, CK, whenever the politicians come to KC they always seem to go to Arthur Bryant's BBQ. Now why none of them seem to go to Gates, Jack Stack, LC's or any of the dozens of BBQ places in town I'm not sure. Tradition, I guess. The original Bryant's has pictures of Presidents and other celebrities going back decades on the walls.

Hey white pols venture into ethnic joints to woo the locals all the time, why wouldn't a black politician take an opportunity to show he's down with the whitebread folks?

Heck I'd criticize him if he didn't take an easy opportunity like this.

Though perhaps I'm still smarting over Brooks' Applebees jibe.

Cosi is pretty awful. I like to think of myself as one of those colorful people living in rural America, who play bluegrass music and go to NASCAR races. But I'm an Obama supporter so I guess I don't count :)
