The Moderate Voice: CARTERIZING OBAMA

  • Silhouette · 5 months ago
Behind the seemingly-vacillating veneer of Barack Obama lies a man who knows ruthless strategy.

Trust it. And know that not only can he be ruthless, even in his "apathy", but that his heart is in the right place when doing so. A rare and prized combination in a man.

Carter has his heart in the right place but lacked the ruthlessness necessary to act appropriately at the appropriate times. Cheney is all ruthlessness and zero heart, in contrast.. To put it bluntly, if you shut up and leave Obama and his likewise sidekick Rahm Emanuel..[.who leans a little more towards the ruthless end of the spectrum but still appears to have a heart] alone, they will do wonders. Trust it.

A good leader will stand firm while his heart is weeping. It' a sign of maturity and the reason he is THE right man for the job right at this particular time in history.

Beware the dangers of hindsight, which is rarely 20/20. Today, it is easy to dismiss Carter as a failure in foreign policy, especially in his last two years of office. But at the time, Democrats defended his actions vigorously, just as they defend Obama now. Of course, Obama may turn out to be far more capable. But an accurate comparisons demands that we look at what Democrats said about Carter in 1979, not after the end of the Cold War.
