Including the Dems. While only indirectly related, the votes by Sen. Feinstein and Nancy Pelosi (my Senator and Representative- since I live in SF) on such matters of the Patriot Act and their support of the Bush administration's unconstitutional policies that erode my rights and freedoms have guaranteed my anger towards them. Sen. Feinstein has crossed the line and I will no longer support her. Ms. Nancy is getting real close to that point. While I will never vote for DiFi again, Nancy is still redeemable.

I really don't want to get started on this because it makes me so mad and upset that the leaders of our country are destroying it and our values.

It really makes me mad that even though most Americans don't like the direction of the country the Dem. leaders refuse to stand up to Bush. Bush, helped along by his fellow Republicans, get what they want.

Now I'm not one of these people who think we should impeach Bush (I do, but we have other, more important issues to work on for the sake of the country) so I love Pelosi for making the adult decision not to go after Bush. But the leaders don't stand up for the citizens, the country or even the constitution. That I think is unforgivable. Just like most civilized governments for centuries have recognized that water boarding is torture. Personally I think Bush likes this "game" surrounding water boarding because it distracts from other issues, such as the missing e-mails, the Plame leak, the run-up to the Iraq war, the fact that he didn't act on pre-9/11 intelligence surrounding imminent terrorist attacks, etc.

Re: CIA Director Admits to Waterboarding

So basically he admitted to something we all knew was going on anyways, but no one has bothered to hammer out if its illegal yet so no harm no foul? And for all we know they are still doing it? Am I missing anything?

Re: CIA Director Admits to Waterboarding

Kind of like "controlled electrocution" or "controlled trauma" -- ahem

Re: CIA Director Admits to Waterboarding

Shhh. Didn't you pay attention to what I wrote earlier. It's not "torture" and it's not "waterboarding" (which always was a clumsy term).

It's "controlled drowning" (with "drown" as a transitive verb).

(Of course it's torture, and always has been.)

Re: CIA Director Admits to Waterboarding

Basically it's torture, unless we do it.
