Nah... launching Cheney to the L1 point is a baaaaad idea. All the hot air he emits would cause the satellite's sensors to explode. Or melt.

It seems to me that investing in a satellite that can measure the solar radiation being reflected from the earth is a no brainer. I suppose that's explanation enough of why Cheney might want to block it. Heaven forbid we should gather additional reliable evidence about something as critical as anthropogenic global warming! As for launching Cheney into orbit? Probably not a very sound expenditure of taxpayer money... but it has it's appeal nonetheless.
