I simply am confused as to how Clinton keeps saying she is the strongest candidate against mcCain when she is in 2nd place and has lost the nomination.
My understanding of losing the nomination and being behind the frontrunner for 6 months straight means you are weaker then the guy in first place.
But, then, it's Clinton and she keeps making stupid comments and the press treats them like truth.
Clinton is trying to destroy Obama and because the race is almost over and he needs her voters to come to his side soon, he is boxed in and cannot throttle her for her ugly behavior.
I sincerely hope the party will deal with her harshly after this is over.

I find it supremely ironic that Clinton has basically stayed in the race, waiting for something to trip up Obama so she could rush in to the rescue. But she has only managed to trip up herself instead.

This little speaking gaffe really is a pretty minor deal by itself. The reason that it became a big deal is because it is viewed as the final nail in the coffin of her campaign, the exclamation point to an already finished sentence. Slate's Hillary Deathwatch monitor has her at 0.7%, and that was *before* she shoved both her feet down her throat on Friday.
