The American economy rests on the back of the American worker and consumer. Taxpayers own the government and currency is only a tool enabling commerce.
Take charge of it. Get it working for you, not against you.
Once this is done, the other problems will resolve naturally, including home owners making their payments.

The clucking hens are just making fools of themselves. The fact is, the Detroit automaker model has been a fundamentally failed model for thirty years. The modern automobile industry in the USA has existed for ages, in the form of foreign-firm "transplants." How hard is it (it should be laughably easy) for people to grasp or to admit? (That includes people in Detroit like the automakers' management and the UAW's Gettelfinger.)
Nobody with any self-respect will be happy about providing any federal support to these failed-model companies.
