That's great.... maybe the illegal immigrants employed at Wal-Mart can give their own specials on cheap drugs. :) Thanks! Besides, wasn't Hillary on the Wal-Mart board at one time?

Go Sam the Dry-Gooder! :)

Re: Good!

Wal-Mart?

Re: Good!

Austin, Tyson Chicken is the largest importer of cocaine to the US? I had no idea. I'll have to sell my stock since no one will be able to afford cocaine in this economy. So.... who imports the cheap drugs? :)

Re: Good!

Let's not forget the fake Dan rather docs!

People, even otherwise intelligent and sane people, can convince themselves of the most outlandish things. UFO's and alien anal probing, Tyson Chicken as the largest importer of cocaine to the US, the Queen of England as the world leader of heroin smuggling, etc, etc, etc.

Re: Good!

"....campaigns and, I would add, maybe some of their supporters even more, have their "favorite lies" about the opposition..."

Yes, and I suppose we could call Bush's changing of stories on Iraq "favorite untruths"! Of course another name is propaganda, whether it's "favorite lies" or "favorite untruths"... depending on whether you do not support something or want someone to support your position....

Re: Good!

Actually Andy, the fruitcake brigade that (briefly) brought up McCain's legitimacy was even more strange than the current crop. In Obama's case it's all far faaaar-right wingers and some just plain crazy people. In McCain's case it was an unholy alliance of far faar left wingers crazy people and far faaaaaaaaaaar right wingers who were anti-illegal immigration crusaders and considered McCain little more than an illegal.

Re: Good!

Yeah, I agree Mark. I expect the opponents to deceptively promulgate those "favorite lies." What pisses me off is that the press sometimes debunks them and sometimes doesn't.

Re: Good!

Andy:
I had completely forgotten that there were folks who questioned McCain's status as a "natural born" citizen. That was as ill-informed as this Obama thing.

David Brooks had a great phrase he used during the campaign. He said that campaigns and, I would add, maybe some of their supporters even more, have their "favorite lies" about the opposition. These are the myths and legends they like to believe because it makes them odious. The allegations that Obama and McCain weren't "natural born" US citizens are among the "favorite lies" proposed and actually believed by some people who don't care for either man.

Jim:
There are people who have visceral negative reactions to political figures of both parties.

Mark

Re: Good!

I guess since he lost, the left "fruitcake" brigade has given up on questioning McCain's birth legitimacy. Does anyone really think the SCOTUS would actually take this case?

Re: Good!

Of course this will not stop the fruitcake brigade from continuing their campaign. I expect the Obama presidency to go through much the same thing that the Clintons went through. These people still take Mena and the "Vince Foster murder" seriously. Of course in the current BS they have the backing of "luminaries" like Limbaugh, Savage and Corsi.
