Yet that dream is often spun by politicians and even dictators for their own purposes.

We shouldn't ignore the fact...now, as with Jesse Owens in Berlin in 1936...that the Olympic dream transcends passing tyrants...and can be turned against them.

Re: Hillary Calls for President Bush to Nix Olympics Presence in China

I say let Bush go to the Olympics. Breathing that polluted air will be punishment enough.... :) And when Bush gets back he still won't do anything to improve the environment. And with all the restrictions the Chinese plan to put into place to reduce air pollution for the games, what Bush will be getting is the best air possible.

I just feel sorry for all the athletes who will be subjected to it (and the Chinese who have to live in it).

Re: Hillary Calls for President Bush to Nix Olympics Presence in China

I absolutely love the Olympics. Love them to death. And like Senator Obama, I'm conflicted on this one.

Re: Hillary Calls for President Bush to Nix Olympics Presence in China

youre a fair heart lynx. iremember the very first time i met you at tmv. your name/ screen name is still beautiful.
