That America is just a hairs breath away from the great depression.

Why not tell them that any day now you will be broke, cant afford groceries and that your house will be foreclosed upon.

I would surely understand the president telling us that YOUR life sucks, you cant afford health insurance and that if you get sick you will DIE. Never mind that terrorists wants to kill us, We are spending the last dime we have in Iraq and Afghanistan and pretty soon now China and the rest of the world will show up and take our money from us.

Gotcha. I just dont understand why hes spinning the truth just a little bit.

Re: It’s Still the Economy, Stupid (Guest Voice)

Sorry -- use that cacophony. "REPUBLICAN RECESSION"

Re: It’s Still the Economy, Stupid (Guest Voice)

The President wasn't Orwellian, just out of touch. "Just like his father was, out of touch with real Americans' everyday lives" and "Bush recession" will become more frequent if Obama is clever enough. ("Like father, like son? Another Bush recession, another man out of touch with the American people. ...") I doubt Obama would reduce or risk his credibility by saying "Bush-McCain recession,"although he might say "GOP recession" and succeed.

Re: It’s Still the Economy, Stupid (Guest Voice)

Our president's comments on the economy last Tuesday were truly Orwellian. These people don't seem to have the first clue what's like for the working poor or the (so-called) middle class in this country, which is the main reason McCain will be in such a struggle this fall. It is indeed the economy, stupid, and there are only so many ways the GOP can dance around the fact this has been happening on their watch.
