The Moderate Voice: Missing the Target on Israel

  • BarkyBree · 11 months ago
"Is it so difficult for some people to draw a distinction between the religion of Judaism and the political entity known as the nation of Israel?"

Yes, and it works in all directions. If people dislike Israel's actions, they tag synagogues with hate speech. If you criticize Israel, people call you anti-Semitic. And people support Israel because the Jewish people suffered horribly under the Holocaust. All of these are illogical and wrong.

Best answer is to make a sound decision based on the actions and the situation, and leave all the dogmatic and ideological baggage behind.

I agree Jazz. My guess is the spray painting vandals wouldn't be able to answer the simplest, most elementary quiz about current events relating to Israel if their lives depended on it. On one hand there is informed debate and protest, but on the other hand (the one in question here) I believe there are only fools and idiots.

OK, enough of that. Time for some football!

Jazz - Jews who love being Jews, love Israel but dislike the govt's behavior must become more vocal, must as Palestinians who don't support Hamas need to as well. I've seen more of the former than the latter but that isn't to say the latter don't exist.

And sometimes the vandals intent on stirring up TIMELY pro-Israeli sentinments are on payroll...

I'm just saying... The real deal is Iran. That's what this is all about..."getting behind Israel riling Iran (ultimately). Poor palestinians dying for an inadvertent reason and poor israelites whose souls will go to Hell for defying the Ten Commandments..

Why not go to the peace tables? What reason just now is there to whoop it up in the Middle East? Was there anyone you can think of who wanted to instigate in the Middle East, say, nearish to Iran...say...before they left power in the US?

    Nah, couldn't be...?

Silhouette, I agree that is a valid concern. . . although I hope you are wrong.
  • Silhouette · 11 months ago
Of course, no one more than I hopes I am wrong.

But alas, I am a realist.

"But alas, I am a realist"

That is not the description that I would use.

By the way Judaism doesn't have a "Hell" as such and the arrogance of defining "Jew" for everyone is beyond the pale.
You come off as a foaming at the mouth loon.
