Nor did I speculate about his position. I simply took what he said and tied it to the supporting evidence for why his position is correct. At least that was the aim.

Re: Obama: It’s Time to Begin to End the War

[sigh] Don't read more into this than actually is in what he or his speech writers wrote. He did a good job (I read it today at lunchtime) and what he wrote should be the subject, not neurotic (and creative-to-fictitious) speculation and blathering about what everyone is saying about it and about Obama's position. (The stupid people are fortunately main occupied and obscessed with the New Yorker cover; they are at the level at best of one lefty talk show caller I heard who talked for a while and then said, "Do you think that maybe it could be satire?" It took her that long to think about it. It was a serious phone call. [rolling eyes])

Re: Obama: It’s Time to Begin to End the War

Yes, it does!

Re: Obama: It’s Time to Begin to End the War

I" don’t much care whether this is a flip, a flop, a 180, or a 360 degree turn back to the starting place. It doesn’t matter to me. What matters is whether the candidate clearly understands that we need to get out of Iraq, that we need to do so as soon as expeditiously as prevailing circumstances permit, and that to get out at any point, you eventually have to start leaving. "
------------------------------------------------
Wow, Damozel,
We are paraphrasing each other ( me on a related thread).

It feels good to agree.
