She has every right to leave if he violated her trust and their sacred vows. But I also respect the woman who does "stand by her man" when he has made a mistake and if she believes his apology is sincere. The Spitzers, for example, are in couples therapy. I don&#39t know how that&#39s going to work out and they may split. I only mention them as an example of a governor in a similar situation whose wife is taking a different route.

Personally I tend to be the more forgiving type. However once someone crosses a line with me (and I make it clear when a line is about to be crossed or potentially could be crossed) then that&#39s it.

From a religious aspect (and I think know your views, but I want to point this out).... I figure if God is willing to forgive us (provided we are sincere in our apology) then I think we should also forgive others. I know I&#39m not perfect. Tthere is this little thing called "being human" which makes life so interesting because we&#39re given the freedom to choose our actions.

I don&#39t strive to live a perfect life, because such a life doesn&#39t exist. Instead I try to be "more perfect" each day, hoping that I learned from the previous day&#39s lessons. But I&#39m not even perfect at that either.

So as long as I feel an apology is sincere, then I&#39m willing to forgive. And when true love is involved it&#39s even more complicated.

Re: One Woman’s View on Mrs. Sanford

I love that letter, thanks Jazz!

Ultimately the reaction in such a situation is left up to the woman.
