Seems to me that this whole "issue" really drove a lot of moderate and even right-leaning folks, including myself, away from the right. The whole "sanctity of marriage" argument never made any sense to me, given the divorce rate for heterosexuals has been steady at 50% or so. I agree Slamfu, I could care less if gay people want to marry. Who knows? Maybe gay couples will be able to give marriage advice to straight couples?

This is just one of those issues that drove me from the middle to the left. I honestly don't care if gay people want to marry, but I do care when people start crafting laws that butt into others business for no particular reason. Or rather, for all the wrong reasons. If the sanctity of marriage as an institution could survive "Who wants to marry a millionaire?", it can survive same sex couples.
