I'm also someone who said that I didn't particularly care about Ensign having an affair. But, yeah, Sanford's greater political ambitions are toast for at least the rest of the decade. Disappearing for a week to visit your mistress in Argentina while lying not just to your wife, but seemingly your own staff and security? It doesn't scream "elect me!"

I am not talking about the Republican folks. They are all just as decent as Democrats.
I am talking about Republican politicians who built an entire movement on a lie that has now been exposed.
It's not the offense necessarily, we all sin. It's the hypocrisy and the political preaching and judgment passed on others by those politicians

Smiling at Shannon's joke, but, at the same time, countries really are allowed to have different moral standards. Just because someone in Norway thinks blowjob jokes are great to advertise national chains, it doesn't mean I have to think so. If I were to go to Indonesia, I'd try to remember not to use my left hand to pass things to Muslim friends, not just go, "bah! in Europe, no one cares about the left hand. You're all a bunch of idiots."
