Have to say I disagree. While the details may be different, the key point is that an unelected supreme sovereign power has been challenged or feels threatened. And the legitimacy of a dictatorship ultimately stems from the use of violence - as we see in both cases.

Junk. When a government commmit or support genecide in Iraq or enywhere using intentional false excuse, there is no difference between elected or non-elected government, or one party or two party democracy.
