There's an article online today that says this tribe has been known (of) for 100 years, and the photographer has known about them for the past 20 years. It said he admitted to taking the photos and spinning the story to try to draw attention to the need to protect these tribes from the outside world.

Hi Dr. E.,
I'm a little confused by your CODA. Are you thinking the photos are not real? Could the lack of shadows be from an overcast day? And, wouldn't we all just stand and stare if some UFO swooped low over us? I think I might, just from the newness or shock or curiosity of it. (I found this story interesting, too, and posted a link on my blog to the news story.)

good point daveinboca. Really heartfelt and good point. I think the Brazilian government had mentioned they thought there were about 100 groups that lived in the forests who had never had contact. Also, as I recall, the point of the fly-overs was supposed to be documentation for funding for protection of native peoples. I hope it turns out all right and they just let the people live in peace.

I think these denizens of Acre Province in Brazil have figured out that the flying objects over them are not a "Cargo Cult" friendly invasion. These people probably have no immunities whatsoever & will die from the common cold if they even shake hands with a Brazilian or Peruvian or whomever. They call them "virgin soil" diseases.
