February 28th 2009 is important to me because it is the 6th anniversary (on the Gregorian calendar) of the death of my beloved father from metastasized lung cancer:

Thanks for alerting me to this important day. My son has Eosinophilic Esophagitis, which is included in the list of rare diseases. I would not have known it two years ago, but it's clear to me now that those with rare diseases face the double-challenge of not only living with a chronic (or worse, fatal) disease, but struggling to increase understanding and research interest.
