funny how you can tell roughly how far to the right someone lies just by watching how much they use The One, Messiah, etc, to refer to barack obama.

maybe there's a cadre of lefties that refer to him or think of him like that -- i certainly haven't met any; but it's the righties so obsessed with him that are really propagating the meme.

i wasn't caught up in the hyper-enthusiasm of the obama scene early in this political season... but as a fairly educated person who doesn't make close to a living wage, i can't say i don't understand the appeal after seven years of GWB and the exciting mcCain "i'm not obama"-based platform.

as far as the tasering goes, well, i'm not simple enough to believe that because wooten's a Bad guy, then the palins must be Good. 'cause that would be, well... dumb.

I think it would be a good idea, before you write to comment on the investigation and its report, that you actually READ the report, which I have. It was a witchhunt from start to finish. He didn't even have all the evidence. Ridiculous!

What's worse than the actual ethics violation, is her refusal to cooperate with the investigation,constant issuance of untrue public statements about the reason for Monegan's dismissal, and now her attempt to make the findings look like they are tainted because of excessive partisanship. This is a political reformer????

Although, I suspect you had better check with The One before you bring the tasering of children up in front of the non-wonking public.

The abuse of power was in pressuring Monegan to fire Wooten, not firing Monegan. Nice try though. Actually, not really.

But CO- she said on the public record that the reason for firing Monegan had nothing to do with his refusal to fire her brother-in-law--- when obviously it WAS a contributing factor

.Also, Do we really want to give the extremist Todd Palin access to the powers of the Vice-Presidency? The abuse of power consisted of allowing him access to the gubernatorial powers and perks that are rightly used by the elected official ONLY. Those who complained about Hillary Clinton in the '90's don't see the danger now?

Finding Number Two

I find that, although Walt Monegan's refusal to fire Trooper Michael Wooten was not the sole reason he was fired by Governor Sarah Palin, it was likely a contributing factor to his termination as Commissioner of Public Safety. In spite of that, Governor Palin's firing of Commissioner Monegan was a proper and lawful exercise of her constitutional and statutory authority to hire and fire executive branch department heads.

She should have cooperated- admitted she made a mistake, but said that she didn't know it was going to be considered illegal. Palin should have told the panel that she was desperate to get her brother-in-law out of their lives. Then she could have put it behind her. Now she looks like every other lying pol instead of the maverick reformer who was willing to face down corruption.

This will finish them off. Its too close to the election. Obama-Biden should make a great ad out of the findings and her earlier claims of innocence- which are on record.
