By the way, casual, if Islam is not a religion of peace, what does this mean about our foreign policy? What are the real world implications of this stunning realization into the true nature of Islam? Do we try to kill them, convert them, or lock them away because of their religion? Maybe we tell them what the Quran really says and get rid of them if they don't like our new theology?

I'd be happy to hold up our record in Iraq against John McCain. McCain's continued support for the abject ineptitude and twisted morality of our current foreign policy in Iraq and the Middle East are his biggest liabilities.

What's your point, casual? There's no Muslim in the race and I think the GOP has made abundantly clear what a mess they can get us into and how they can keep us mired in the Middle East. With McCain pledged to stay the course, Obama does quite well on this issue.

I agree mwp, and after all the huge budget crushing checks from the current administration to its buddies, it's an especially hollow, shallow attempt at the formerly potent "tax and spend" charge always leveled at Dems. The GOP has no legitimate claim to fiscal responsibility. How anyone can see such remarks now as anything but sheer hypocrisy is beyond me.

It's amusing to see Kudlow say of Obama that "he outbid her for votes, one promised government check at a time." Sooner or later the Right is going to have to decide whether to deride Obama for being all about rhetoric with no specific policies behind it or for being all about specific policies that sell out to special interests. You really can't have it both ways.
